Hi! I’m Ann Wylie. I work with communicators who want to reach more readers and with organizations that want to get the word out.
I’ve probably sat where you’re sitting at one time or another. During my communications career, I have served as:
- PR professional in a boutique PR firm.
- Employee communicator at Hallmark Cards. There, my channel was named best of its kind in the nation by Women In Communications and best of its kind in the world by the International Association of Business Communicators.
- Editor of a nationally acclaimed executive magazine. In that role, I interviewed dozens of CEOs and billionaires and learned what kept businesspeople up at night.
- Professor of graduate writing and communication classes. There, I started researching what makes readers tick and developing that material into the workshop you’re attending now, as well as many others.
- Freelance writer for national magazines. Don’t hate me! But as a freelancer I conducted face-to-face interviews with many people, including George Clooney, Brad Pitt and Robert Redford.
- Consultant and writer for organizations like FedEx, Progressive Insurance and Whole Foods. That work earned more than 60 communication awards, including two IABC Gold Quills — the Pulitzer Prizes of business communications.
- Writing trainer. This role has taken me from Hollywood to Helsinki — and more recently, to my kitchen counter for Zoom sessions. There, I’ve helped thousands of communicators at hundreds of organizations like Coca-Cola, Toyota and Salesforce polish their skills and gain new inspiration for their work.
During this career, I have developed and refined techniques that grab readers’ attention and move them to act.
